WASH DSGN

Wash Dsgn is an artisan jewelry making brand specializing in copper and silversmithing located in Richmond, VA. Wash Dsgn describes themself as “a brand that reflects the realities of nature and industrial complexity. The juxtaposition of straight lines to natural curves. How can a rigid line relate to a lively curve that wants to dance? My jewelry pays homage to the belief that opposites can work together to create a unison where each side compliments the other.”

Wash Dsgn commissioned me to create a logo that would reflect their brand. Considering their vision, I began to look for inspiration, and found it in antique Japanese / Chinese porcelain ware artist marks. These marks were unique to each artist, and placed on very curvaceous, naturally shaped vases, bowls, plates, etc.

Utilizing the initials W and D, I created a monogram in the style of the antique porcelain ware artists. This logo has become a stamp that Wash Dsgn uses to brand each piece of jewelry, adding one more element of authenticity to an already authentic, unique brand.
